I'm anti-photogenic - is this normal?

It is normal for some people to not look very good on pictures. Cameras flatter some people more than others. However, when you take pictures of yourself try to turn the flash off, that is what makes skin look shiny. The camera flash is totally unflattering and gives your face an unnatural look.
