Christopher Robin is Jewish?

So, I love Winnie the Pooh. But upon seeing the trailer for the new movie, I was surprised to find that Christopher Robin was wearing a yarmulke in one of the scenes. I'm not hating on anyone, but I never knew Christopher Robin was religious....can anyone clear this up for me?
